I JUST LOVE THE FACT that the 2480 has a spectrum analyzer
I use it a lot.
So here is a cool tip !!!
One requirement, you need to have a monitor connected.
- Okay, click "Utility" -> Analyzer.
- Set "Source" to "Master L" or "Master
R"...
- Set "Use effect Board" to whatever effect board you can
spare.
- I always use "Peak Hold", but that is up to you if you want
to or not.
- Now, press the "HOME" button.
- Goto page 3 in the bottom menu.
- Click "IDAnlr" and click "IDHold"
And voila !!!
Now your little LCD screen will keep showing you the analyzer working,
while
you can use your monitor like you always do (for all other tasks).
I use the analyzer for different tasks (always when I do mastering)
!!!
But also when I do mixdown. Maybe I have a vocal that sounds
"weird", some
cymbals that has some irritating frequency-areas... whatever... I use
the
analyzer here, cos it gives me a graphic picture of the frequencies of
the
material I'm working on. So it's easier for me also to "see"
how things
sound.
A little warning though... always remember... let your ears be the
judge...
NOT the analyzer... the analyzer is ONLY a tool for you to use !!!
