Is
your Roland VS-2480 CD Burner Dead or Dying?
If your Roland VS-2480's
external CDR (CD Burner) no longer burns CDs, or only intermittently
burns successful CDs, there is a good chance that the burner is
"going out".
A weak laser is an early
sign, and is often why older burners "read" discs fine, but
have issues burning CDs.
If you have the Roland
2480CD version, and are having CD burning issues, it is most likely that
your internal CDR is wearing out.
There are
current no "new" CD burners being manufactured for the Roland
VS-2480.
Your choices are to obtain
a used CD burner
to use with your 2480.
Or...
You can purchase a new
DVD/CDR combo burner to use with your Roland VS-2480 or Roland
VS-2480CD.
The
VS-2480DVD uses the latest 2.504 Operating System, which gives it it's
DVD burning capabilities.
(The 2480's internal DVD drive is actually
a DVD/CDR combo drive.)
However...
ALL 2480's can be upgraded to OS 2.504 and ALL can have DVD burning
capabilities!
If you
purchase an External
DVD/CDR Combo Burner and upgrade your 2480's Operating System, your
2480HD or 2480CD will have all the functionality of the newest Roland
2480DVD units.
Currently,
The Song-Vault DVD/CDR Combo Drive
Is the ONLY New Burner for the 2480.
